A light at the end of the tunnel

Hurrah! Lewis has managed to fix my laptop so I am, once again, connected to the world. Main computer still down but I'm far too selfish to worry about the rest of the family being surf-deprived– I'm alright Jack!

I can't believe it's only been 5 days with no internet connection– seems like forever. And it's made me realise just how much I depend on it, and how much I enjoy the time I spend each evening reading and commenting on everyone's blogs. I've also got much more sympathy for Harry (my 10 year old stepson) than before– when we have people round for supper and they stay beyond Harry's bedtime, he has to come in every 10 minutes to say he can't get to sleep (and, more importantly, check that we're not doing anything too fun without him!) That's just how I've been feeling– I spent the first hour back online rushing from blog to blog to make sure that I hadn't missed anything *too* fun.

  1. Hi Sian, Ah, this explains a lot. I admit I asked Kirstie if you had got home OK after Friday as I thought you might have fallen into a North East London hole somewhere laden with burnt offerings and not emerged, but she assured me you were OK.
I sympathise with your withdrawal symptoms, I was just rambling on in Debi Alper’s blog about our upcoming holiday to France and the dilemma of whether to take laptops or not.
Before all this I used to read about three times as many books. I guess this is the answer, and it would also be nice and quiet for Harry 😉
In the meantime, I must go to bed but it is very nice to have you back online again!
    much love

  2. PS or maybe it was Marie’s blog I was rambling. I have been doing a lot of rambling tonight owing to having one more glass of wine than usual — terrible what it does to the inhibitions, especially when one happens to see an impulsive posting in the cold light of day some time later!
